Well ----- this morning we left the ship and rode the motorcoach into Athens to our hotel. We are not leaving Greece just yet! We have planned to stay for two extra days in Athens to visit this amazing city.......The bus took us to the Athens Ledra Marriott, and it was great; wonderful service by Princess, the bus company, and the hotel staff.
Following a briefing by our Princess rep., Linda and I headed off down the street for a quick Greek lunch as we had planned a Hop-on-Hop-off Tour with Key Tours. After lunch we got on the hotel shuttle and headed for Syntagma Square Terminal to get on the bus on a 90 minute tour of the city of Athens. It was wonderful! We saw Syntagma Square, Melina Merkoluri/Plaka, New Acropolis Museum, The Acropolis and Partheon, Temple of Zeus, National Gardens, Benaki Museum, National Library, Omonia Square, Karaiskaki Square, Thession Station, and Kotzia Square. We chose not to hop-off, but stayed on the bus (well, we really had to change buses 2 times). They just kept making us change......
The second time around Linda and got off at Plaka for some shopping and dinner. The shopping was very successful, and the dinner at a Greek restaurant was declicious. As we were eating we saw our sisters from our dinner table, and they joined us. We do so enjoy their company!
Back to the hotel in a taxi, and onto the internet to try and catch up on our correspondence and our blogs.
Later, we decided to go upstairs to the restaurant on the top floor to have dessert and see the sights of Athens. It was absolutely breath-taking to see The Patheon after dark with all of the lights on. Everyone was making pictures.
Back to the room for more internet time and an early bed. Tomorrow we are off on a half day tour of Athens City and Acropolis Museum. Talk with you later.......

I'm glad you guys keep ending up with such fabulous table buddies each trip.
I can't wait to talk to you about Santorini. I've read a book about it possibly being the Lost City of Atlantis. I'm fascinated by that legend. Did they say anything about Atlantis while you were there?
Love from Curious Ashley.
