Time to Head Home

I am a little tardy with this post and I don't know why.  I guess it has to do with age!  Thursday was our last full day in Vegas so we just slept late, checked out some of the shops, read our books at the pool (Linda) and in the room (me), did some research on the netbook, played the slots for the last time (I did better Thursday than Wednesday - I am still ahead), edited the pictures from the Grand Canyon (had to make sure that I had some good pictures of Miss G -( more about her later), and just relaxed.  Now who is Miss G you ask - a good friend of mine, Ashley Rehorn, has a precious, beautiful little girl named Langley ( I think she is 4).  Ashley made a set of alphabet dolls (each about 2 inches high) to help Langley learn her letters.  The dolls travel with friends all over the world.  I have taken about 6-7 of the dolls on cruises and other vacations.  This time Miss G flew in a helicopter and visited the Grand Canyon.  I took several pictures so that Ashley can use the ones that she wants for Langley's world map. Not only is Langley learning her letters, she is learning world geography.  Isn't that great?  If you are interested, Ashley also makes the sets to sell.  This is a new business venture for her.

Linda and I did have an unusual and very nice experience at lunch Thursday.  We were in the buffet line (we had 2 for 1 coupons) ready for a delicious meal when a very nice gentleman asked us if we were in line to eat.  When we replied, yes, he gave us 2 coupons for a free buffet lunch and told us to enjoy ourselves.  Then he was off!  Now wasn't that nice of him ---------

On Friday we got up early, had breakfast with another coupon  (Linda always has coupons - I don't know where she gets them, but I don't really care as long as we can use them and they save us money), and left for the airport.  I will have to tell you that the taxi driver had much better manners that the men on Wednesday.  He helped me out of the taxi and also helped push my bag onto the sidewalk (it was quite full and heavy).  I did appreciate that very much!

So the flight back home was uneventful (thank goodness) and I am back home safe and sound.  Another adventure in the history books. ------- Next trip - River Cruise on the Seine in France - mid-October.

Until next time -----
