Giverny- Claude Monet - Water Lilies - Japanese Gardens

And the list goes on and on.........What an experience...... to actually walk in the gardens which were created by Claude Monet and to stand on the Japanese bridge that we have so often seen in his paintings.  Even some of the water lilies still had flowers on them.  At the Monet Foundation we were able to explore the artist's home and garden.  The house is furnished as it was when he lived there. As we strolled through the gardens, we could see some of the landscapes that grace Monet's paintings, including the water garden shaded by weeping willows and filled with water lillies.  Even though the weather was damp and chilly I could feel the warmth of the flowers everywhere.

Vernon - is a charming town with its Gothic Collegiate church and half-timbered house.  We walked through the town with its uneven streets and enjoyed the quietness of this town on the Seine River near La Roche Guyon, known for its castle that was built into the steep chalk cliffs.
