Passport Issues

Good Morning to all.  Linda and I made it to the ship, Ocean Princess.  We started out on Friday afternoon at the Charlotte airport with a little excitement.  Linda had her carry-on luggage searched because she had put two quart ziplock bags in her bag.  One was hers with makeup, but the other one was for our cabin steward.  After much unpacking the TSA agent let her keep the extra bag and move on. Then my adventure again!  Of course I had to be searched because of my artificial knees, but this time the TSA agent put my passport and boarding pass in the bin with my netbook.  After the screening, I picked up my netbook and Linda and I headed to the US Airways Club.  After we sat down for a minutes, I realized that I had not picked up my passport.  So back up to the check-in and of course no one had turned in my passport.  A few of the people who helped me were very nice, but a very of them were not so nice.  Finally after several panically moments an elderly TSA man found them for me in a bin at the front to the lane. I took a big breath and thanked him many times.

The checkin at the airport was quite easy in Rome.  Princess agents were there to meet us with a luggage trolley (this was very helpful).  Then off to Rome for a special bus tour of the Eternal City.  Our guide was fabulous - so knowledgeable.  We arrived at the port around 12:30 pm, checked in, and went right onboard to our stateroom. Linda and I have traveled so many times that we have our routine worked out for unpacking our bags.  As usual this went very smoothly.

After exploring the ship we went to dinner at 6:00pm.  At our table were 2 couples from Australia and two sisters (one from CA and one from KY).  All of them were very pleasant!  I think this will be a good dinner table.....

Linda and I checked out the casino, but no luck for me. So off to bed I went as it had been a long 24-36 hours.

More on our adventures tomorrow.  Good Night!
